Kristina Gehrmann is a freelance illustrator from Hamburg, Germany, with a focus on figurative and historical art, working mostly in Photoshop with a Wacom Intuos tablet. Born in 1989 with a pencil in hand, she took up classical academic drawing and painting classes at Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, in 2008. Having finished the program in 2011, she now draws full-time. Her clients are primarily publishing companies in Europe, big and small, as well as self-publishers. Her graphic novel trilogy, Im Eisland, tells the true story of Franklin’s Lost Expedition and won the German Children’s Literature Award. The subject also inspired several of her digital paintings.
