Pam Casey has taken a circuitous journey in her quest to become a designer and illustrator. Growing up, she doodled until her fingers nearly fell off, invented things out of paper, and was inspired by animation and the world around her. Almost three decades later, not much has changed. She eventually stopped drawing suns in the upper corners of her artwork when she started taking life drawing classes at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. There, she excelled and found love in traditional oil painting, and looked to painters Norman Rockwell and Edward Hopper for her stylistic influence. Taking courses there was a stepping stone toward building a portfolio suitable for submission to Tyler School of Art, where she earned her degree in Graphic and Interactive Design. Since graduating from Tyler in 2014, she has worked as a freelance designer and illustrator.
